Orcutt Community Theater will present Murder at Café Noir, a mystery dinner theater fundraiser on July 21 and 22 as well as July 28 and 29.
The group is holding auditions for the play on May 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and May 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Righetti High School Drama Room (403), 941 E. Foster Road, Santa Maria. Participants will be asked to perform cold readings from the script.
The play, directed by Meredith Brough, is a comic tribute to the Humphrey Bogart movies of the 1940s. The black and white movie theme will be evident in décor and costumes, and patrons are asked to join by dressing in either black and white and/or 1940s attire.
The play will take place at the Moxie Café, 1317 W. McCoy Lane, Santa Maria, featuring a catered gourmet dinner and a no-host bar (wine and beer only). Tickets are $65. Reservations are available at murderatcafenoir@brownpapertickets.com or by calling (805) 937-3738. This production is the final offering of theater’s first theatrical season.
