• Youth Roller Derby: The Rocketeer Rollerz, a new roller derby team based in Santa Maria, is looking for girls aged 11 to 17 to participate in their new junior roller derby league, the Model Rockets. The team will be holding a late registration at Me-N-Ed’s Pizza place at 560 E. Betteravia on Nov. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration fees are $60 for first month’s dues for each child, which includes skating insurance and a T-shirt. • Santa Maria Valley Bike Run: Motorcycle enthusiasts will be riding high on their hogs at the eighth annual Santa Maria Valley Bike Run on Nov. 12. Activities include raffles, 50/50 drawings, a barbecue, and more. The cost to participate is $25 per person and a new, unwrapped toy for a child. Proceeds will benefit the Marine Corps’ Reserve Toys for Tots program. Registration will take place the morning of the run from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Santa Maria Elks Lodge No. 1538, 1309 N.
