• Lou Benetti Memorial Golf Tournament: Members of the public will be able to team up with blind golfers for charity at the 12th annual Lou Benetti Memorial Golf Tournament, held at the Village Country Club in Vandenberg Village on Sept. 17. Proceeds will benefit blind and visually impaired children. Following the tournament will be the 12th annual California Blind Golf Classic on Sept. 18 and 19, a 36-hole competition for visually impaired golfers. • Cruzin’ for Life: The eighth annual car show and carnival will be held Sept. 23 and 24 at the Santa Maria Fairpark. • Santa Barbara County Golf Championship: Entries are currently being accepted for the 36-hole championship tournament, to be held at the La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc Oct. 22 to 23. The tournament is open to amateur golfers 18 and older. The cost is $150 and includes green fees, a prize fund, and a barbecue. Carts will be optional and cost $10 each day. • Memorial Boxing Event: A boxing show in Santa Maria for law enforcement officers, firefighters, and public safety volunteers is Oct. 22. The event will be a fundraiser in remembrance of fallen peace officer Derrick Rush. The card will feature 10 matches, with fighters subject to change.
