• Blaine Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament: The 15th annual tournament in honor of Johnson, a deceased Santa Maria professional drag racer, will be held on Nov. 16 at the Santa Maria Country Club. An awards banquet will follow, as will an auction at the Santa Maria Elks Lodge. Check-in starts at 10 a.m., with the tournament beginning at 11:30. Proceeds will benefit Hancock’s Automotive Tech Lab and the Blaine Johnson Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
• Santa Maria Valley Bike Run: Motorcycle enthusiasts will be riding high on their hogs at the eighth annual Santa Maria Valley Bike Run on Nov. 12. Activities include raffles, 50/50 drawings, a barbecue, and more. The cost to participate is $25 per person and a new, unwrapped toy for a child. Proceeds will benefit the Marine Corps’ Reserve Toys for Tots program. Registration will take place the morning of the run from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Santa Maria Elks Lodge No. 1538, 1309 N.
