Professional boxing is returning to Chumash Casino on July 20, when undefeated lightweight Art Hovhannisyan faces off against Venezuelan Miguel Acosta in the 10-round main event for nationally televised ShoBox: The New Generation.

Hovhannisyan boasts an undefeated record (14-0-2, eight KOs) and will be looking to rebound from a loss to Cristobal Cruz at his last Shobox event at Chumash Casino, which ended with an accidental head butt. Acosta (29-5-2, 23 KOs) has beaten three previously undefeated fighters.

The night’s card will also feature a co-main event between light middleweights Julian ā€œJ-Rockā€ Williams (9-0-1, four KOs) and Nevada’s Said El Harrak (10-2, five KOs). The rest of the undercard includes Santa Maria’s Rufino Serrano (12-4), who will fight for the first-ever Central Coast title against Seattle’s Rob Diezel (8-4, three KOs) in an eight-round featherweight contest; undefeated San Ardo prospect Roman Morales (10-0, six KOs) faces Alexis Santiago (11-2-1 five KOs) of Phoenix in an eight-round super bantamweight bout; Santa Barbara lightweight Francisco Santana (12-3-1, six KOs), undefeated lightweight Jonathan Maicelo (16-0, nine KOs), and featherweight Roy Tapia (3-0-1, two KOs) are also slated to meet opponents to be announced.

The Gary Shaw Productions/Thompson Boxing Promotions event will air live on the Showtime network. Tickets are priced at $35, $45, $55, $70, and $85, and can be purchased at the Chumash Resort Casino Box office or online at startickets.com.
