Santa Maria’s newest roller derby squad, the Rocketeer Rollers, will be holding a recruitment and meet-and-greet with the players on Aug. 27 at Orcutt Community Park.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include skate demos, raffle prizes, free snacks, and information on how to join the adult team and junior leagues. Potential adult team members must be 18 years of age or older; junior players must be between 11 to 17 years old to be eligible for the league.
Orcutt Community Park is located at 5800 S. Bradley Road in Santa Maria.
