In collaboration with Allan Hancock College, the Santa Maria Public Library will host free maker activities in July and August on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funding is provided through a grant from the California Community College Chancellor’s office.
Library and college staff in the Edwin and Jeanne Woods Learning Center will lead groups in three different projects each week. Projects include 3-D printing button making, card making, duct tape crafts, Lego brick building, and mosaics. Light instruction and mentoring will be provided, and makers are encouraged to work both independently and with other makers.
For more information, call 925-0994. The Santa Maria Public Library is located at 421 S. McClelland St. Future dates and projects are available online through the events calendar at cityofsantamaria.org/library.
