The Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum is offering a free Community Day on Saturday, Aug. 8. This is the fifth annual community day the museum has hosted in the name and memory of R.H. Teseneāa community leader, historical figure in the development of Santa Maria, and a generous supporter of the Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum.

Community Day will offer complimentary birthday desserts in Teseneās honor, free music lessons, a Chumash presentation, and craft activities courtesy of the Allan Hancock Parent/Child Participation program. Joan Rice, author of Parenting Solutions, will be on hand to discuss her book and sign copies. There will also be a raffle to win a free annual family membership.

Children and families are invited to visit the museum, spend some time learning and exploring, and enjoy the activities offered throughout the day.
