In celebration of National Library Week, the Lompoc Public Library System is accepting food donations as a part of its Food for Fines program, which runs April 10 through 15. The Lompoc Public Library and the Village Library will accept food donations to help those in need as payment for overdue fines.

Participants will get $1 waived for each canned or packaged shelf-stable pantry item donated to either library. Glass containers, opened or damaged packages, and repackaged or expired food will not be accepted. All food items collected will be donated to the Lompoc Food Pantry.

Donations to Food for Fines will not waive replacement fees for lost or damaged materials, collection agency fees, fines related to items that have been borrowed from another library outside the Lompoc Public Library System, or future overdue fines.

The Lompoc Public Library is located at 501 E. North Ave., Lompoc. The Village Library is located at 3755 Constellation Rd, Lompoc. More info: 875-8775.
