The city of Lompoc’s Beautification and Appearance Commission invites the community to a work project to improve the city.

The commission asks the community to join the work project on Feb. 17, starting at 8 a.m. The group will meet at the northwest corner of D Street where it intersects with North Avenue in Lompoc. Work will continue until the project is complete. The effort will include spreading mulch, planting drought-tolerant plants, and more. Lunch will also be provided. Participants are asked to bring tools they have such as wheelbarrows, shovels, pitchforks, and rakes.

This project resulted from public input during a recent community meeting held by the Beautification and Appearance Commission seeking ideas for beautifying Lompoc. Those wanting to take part should RSVP to (805) 875-8034.
