Cal Poly photography instructor and filmmaker Sky Bergman will premier her feature-length documentary Lives Well Lived at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) on Feb. 7. The film is Bergman’s directorial debut.

Lives Well Lived divides screen time between 40 individuals aged 75 to 100. They share intimate memories, personal histories, and meaningful insights.

ā€œIt has been a five-year-long labor of love to see this film to fruition,ā€ Bergman said in a press release. ā€œIt is a great honor to share the stories of the amazing people featured in the film. It has been a dream come true to share their words of wisdom with the world.ā€

Bergman is currently a professor of photography and video at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. She co-edited Lives Well Lived with Randi Barros, who currently teaches screenwriting at Allan Hancock College and Cuesta College.Ā 

The premiere of Lives Well Lived takes place Feb. 7 at 7:20 p.m. at the Fiesta 5, located at 916 State St., Santa Barbara. A second screening is Feb. 8 at 8 a.m. at the Metro 4, located at 618 State St., Santa Barbara. More info: sbiff.org. Ā
