Beating out more than 500 other young actresses, 6-year-old Cheyanna Prelesnik nabbed a speaking role on the Emmy-award winning soap opera General Hospital. Her episode was set to air June 21.

Prelesnik, a student of Shell Beach’s Aaron Metchik Acting Studio since she was 4, has booked several independent
and student films in Los Angeles, two music videos, and got a callback for the new Mindy Kaling pilot.

Metchik said he isn’t surprised at Prelesnik’s latest accomplishment, considering that, at a young age, she could memorize and focus beyond her years and that she has a true love for performing.

The Aaron Metchik Acting Studio offers film and TV acting classes for adult, youth, and teen students in Shell Beach, as well as annual trips to Los Angeles where students perform for agents and casting directors. Summer programs begin June 24. For more information and enrollment options, visit metchikstudio.com or call (310) 910-1228.
