Central Coast local Nancy Meddings (pictured below) is donating a portion of her new book’s proceeds to benefit the Friends of the Santa Maria Public Library. A retired librarian and community college academic dean, Meddings based her novel, Melted Into Thin Air: A Matilyn Rose Mystery, on a manuscript she wrote in 1984.
Meddings originally wrote the manuscript as a school project, while majoring in English at CSU Northridge. She rediscovered the forgotten manuscript last year while cleaning her garage during the pandemic.
“After graduation, I packed it away and forgot all about it, until I found it going through boxes of old papers, trying to make more space in my garage,” Meddings said press materials.
Melted Into Thin Air: A Matilyn Rose Mystery is now available to purchase through Amazon, and is planned to be the first of an ongoing series following the book’s main character, Matilyn Rose. Meddings plans to release the next novel in the series, Spirits May Walk, later this year. For more info on the author, visit nancymeddings.com.
