That’s according to coach RD Noel, who said Pompa, a senior and fourth-year wrestler, led her team to another CCAA League Championship, a CIFCS Regional Championship, and the State Championship tournament this year.Ā

Though Pompa missed a bid to the 2018 State Championships, her dream came to fruition this season when she made it to state with two teammates, Jisela Alvear and Mya Valasquez. Noel said that through hard work and dedication, Pompa fought her way into to the top 16 wrestlers in all of California, and she finished her state bid with a 2-2 record. Ā

Noel called Pompa a “tremendous competitor, and one loved by her teammates,” and said Pompa plans to continue her wrestling career in college.Ā
