The Dunes Center, California State Parks Oceano and SLO Coast Districts, and the Dunes Collaborative will present DuneQuest 2010 on May 6 and 7 at 8 a.m. on both days. The event is a symposium focused on providing learning opportunities that highlight the work being done in the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Complex.
Thursdayās activities will be held at the Dunes Center, Oso Flaco Lake Natural Area, and Rancho Guadalupe Dunes. Find Fridayās activities at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History and Morro Bay State Park. Both days will feature speakers presenting diverse information on topics including western snowy plover research and management, native habitat restoration, cultural history of the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes, dune geology, and many other topics.
Speakers will represent California State Parks, the Dunes Center, the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County Parks, and the California Department of Fish and Game. Peter Brosnan, prominent Cecil B. Demille and 10 Commandments historian, will be presenting his work documenting the history of Demilleās films, Guadalupe, and the recovery of the Lost City of Demille.
