The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians has released a web series of 20-minute documentaries titled Chumash Life on YouTube and soon to appear on Santa Barbara’s Cox Communications Channel 1892. The documentaries showcase Chumash historical information, as well as current preservation efforts.

The series began in the spring of 2014 and featured two more subsequent installments in the summer and fall. The new winter edition of the series includes several segments that put a spotlight on the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians’ positive economic impact, efforts to preserve and resurrect the native language of Samala, the tribe’s partnership with the Santa Barbara Zoo, and the plans drawn by architect John Paul Jones for the new Chumash Museum and Cultural Center.
