The First Tee of Central Coast is starting spring sessions of its “More Than a Game” junior golf program at Blacklake Golf Resort and Sunset Ridge Golf Course.
Sessions for children ages 7 and up will teach young golfers of all levels basic golf skills, rules and etiquette, appreciation for the game, and interpersonal and self management skills. Advanced level workshops, for children 11 and older, require one year of experience with First Tee and focus on intermediate skills and drills, golf course management, and expert teaching.
Fees are $100 for each nine-week session and $75 for siblings and children of volunteer coaches. Scholarships are available.
Advanced workshops begin April 13, and regular sessions start April 15 at Blacklake Golf Resort in Nipomo with lead coach Billy Gibbs. The classes run until June 10. Sessions at Sunset Ridge Golf Course in Santa Maria run from April 17 to June 12, taught by First Tee coach Jim DeLaby III.
