Children younger than 18 and their parents are invited see what the world of horses has to offer at the Lompoc Valley Riders’ Kids Day on April 19. The fun begins at 9 a.m. and continues all day with riding, food, and games at La Salle Stables, 451 La Salle Canyon Road in Lompoc.
Horse and rider events include tool box races, big M, London Bridge, and other contests. Un-mounted events—those without horses—include three-legged races, London Bridge, and ball and spoon races.
Attendees will be treated to free demonstrations of horse vaulting, show jumping, dummy roping, and grooming.
Tickets cost $20 for all events, $15 for mounted activities only, and $7 to participate in the un-mounted events. Lompoc Valley Riders club members will receive a $2 deduction from each ticket bought. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required for all participants and spectators.
