The Chumash Casino Resort presents Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Johnny Mathis live in concert on Friday, Dec. 16, at 8 p.m. The legendary musician will be performing a variety of Christmas songs during the upcoming show.
Mathis is best known for “It’s Not for Me to Say,” “Too Much, Too Little, Too Late,” “Misty,” and other hits throughout his music career, which stretches more than 60 years. One of his earliest successes was his 1957 appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. He soon became a household name after his 1958 single “Chances Are” sold more than a million copies.
In 2003, Mathis received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. He continues to be Columbia Records’ longest-signed recording artist. His compilation album, Johnny’s Greatest Hits, spent 490 continuous weeks—nearly a decade—on the Billboard 200, according to press materials.
