Brace yourselves for the ultimate adventure: the Central Coast Crazy Race, taking place throughout the Central Coast on May 1.

It’s described as a cross between Amazing Race, Survivor, and the Ultimate Scavenger Hunt Contestants will gather clues as they travel from Santa Maria to San Luis Obispo, down to Santa Ynez, and back again.

All contestants will begin traveling, by car, with their first ā€œCrazy Clue,ā€ making their way clue-by-clue through highways and byways until they reach the finish line and the winner’s circle.

The event begins with registration and a pancake breakfast for contestants from 6:30 to 8 a.m. The race will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and will conclude with dinner (if participants follow the clues).

There’s a fee of $100 for each two-person team. Participants must be at least 18 years old, have a valid California drivers’ license and insurance, and must sign a release of liability waiver. The number of registered teams will determine cash prizes.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Sojourn Services, Inc., a non-profit organization providing early intervention services to children and their families with developmental delays and mental health issues in Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo.
