The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is opening wild turkey season just in time for Thanksgiving, of course.

From Nov. 8 through Dec. 7, hunters can search for a feathered bird to feast on for the holidays. The daily limit is one turkey of either sex.

General season for pheasants starts on Nov. 8 and runs through Dec. 21 with limits of two males per day for the first two days of the season and three males per day after that.

Dove season cracks back into action on Nov. 8 for the mourning dove, white-ringed dove, spotted dove, and ringed turtle dove. There’s no bag limit for the latter two species, but for the first two, hunters can only nab 15 per day. Up to 10 of those can be white-winged.
