The Santa Maria Philharmonic Orchestra continues its mission of bringing quality music to students in the elementary schools in the Santa Maria Valley with its presentation of Peter and the Wolf, by Sergei Prokofiev, written in 1936 after his return to the Soviet Union.

On Nov. 17, about 900 third-graders will gather at Pacific Christian Center on Santa Maria Way and Bradley Road and be introduced to the instruments of the orchestra under the direction of Maestro John Farrer.

Diane Borad-Mirken will narrate, accompanied by the orchestra.
