Allan Hancock College officials announced last week that Billy Vinnedge will be taking over as the men’s soccer coach for the Bulldogs pending approval from the Board of Trustees.

“His enthusiasm, passion, and energy for Hancock soccer made him the ideal candidate for the job,” said Kim Ensing, associate dean of kinesiology, recreation, and athletics in a press release.

A former graduate of Arroyo Grande High School, Vinnedge also did time as a Bulldog football player and earned all-conference honors as a kicker.

“I am so excited to coach at a place that provided every opportunity for me and helped me achieve my dreams of playing at a Division I program and earning a shot at playing in the NFL,” Vinnedge said. “I am living proof of what Hancock can provide, and I look forward to the chance to help my student-athletes achieve their goals, whatever they may be.”

According to Hancock, Vinnedge has spent the last six years as the soccer coach at Nipomo High School and led the Titans to three CIF playoff appearances.
