An all-freshman team, led by coach Angeli Guerrero, has earned recognition from the Western State Conference. Guerrero was named Co-divisional Coach of the Year for her efforts with the team, leading them to a third-place finish with a record of 15-26.
Three players were also named to the all-conference second team: first baseman Lily Ruiz (Santa Maria High School), freshman infielder Sophia Beltran (Santa Maria High School), and freshman utility player Antoinette Hernandez (Righetti High School). Ruiz batted .455 for the season, hit nine home runs, had five doubles, and drove in 20 runs. Beltran hit .367, has nine home runs, and batted in 18 runs. Hernandez, a fielding shortstop, hit .308, including seven doubles, a home run, and eight RBIs.
Two players received divisional honorable mention: freshman catcher/outfielder Riley Terrones (Lompoc High School), who hit .364 with five doubles; and second baseman Candice Chirtomal (Cabrillo High School), who finished the season with 21 hits.
