Head coach of the Allan Hancock College women’s basketball program, Cary Nerelli, was inducted into the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section’s Hall of Fame on Oct. 23.

Nerelli accepted the award in Long Beach along with 10 other inductees.

Neralli took over Bulldogs’ basketball in 2013, after establishing himself as a well-known high school coach on the Central Coast. He spent more than 40 years coaching at Morro Bay High School and achieved 456 career wins with the girls’ basketball team.

His first year coaching at AHC was the team’s most successful season in 11 years.

The Bulldogs’ first game this season is Nov. 8 against West Hills-Lemoore.
