The Santa Maria Police Activities League (PAL) is preparing its “Girls Circle” event for girls between the ages 12 and 17. The program aims to encourage girls into helping each other by sharing their experiences.

The topic of the “Girls Circle” program is “Body Image” and is slated to start on April 10. The program meets Wednesdays for eight following weeks from 4 to 6 p.m. each day. The program takes place at the Abel Maldonado Youth Center on South McClelland Street, Santa Maria.

The “Girls Circle” program is a “Once Circle Foundation” program, a support program for teenage girls. The session topics each week range from relationships with peers and family, self-image, physical and mental well-being, goal-setting, and self-expression.
