After a recently announced partnership between the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation and Santa Barbara County Arts Commission, every concert ticket sale means 25 cents will go into an arts subsidy fund. The funds will be used by Santa Barbara County Arts Commission to leverage additional funding sources and community resources; eliminate barriers like materials, artist fees, and transportation costs to provide cultural activities, music, and art instruction to rural youth; and to build beneficial partnerships and collaborations throughout Santa Barbara County.

The Santa Barbara County Arts Commission has already received the initial payment, administered by the bowl’s Education Outreach program, in the sum of $30,033.75 from the 2011 concert season. The art subsidy funds will be distributed by the commission in the form of cultural enrichment grants twice a year.
