The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department’s 2010 Winter and Spring Recreation Guide is now available to both residents and non-residents of the Santa Maria Valley.

The guide was mailed to all residents of the Santa Maria Valley and is also available at the Recreation and Parks Administrative Office at 615 S. McClelland St.

The department encourages healthy living in 2010 and is offering numerous low-cost classes to help meet the challenge, including courses in aquatics, dance, general and
specialized exercise, fitness, youth and teen sports, adult sports, and Special Olympics. A discounted course rate is offered for city residents.

The guide also includes programs and classes for active older adults, adult and youth arts, special interests, and youth programs. Community events such as the “Tip-A-Cop” Special Olympics dinner in February and the annual Spring Eggstravaganza are advertised, and community programs such as Tree of Life and the Police Activities League are also highlighted.

For more information, call the Recreation and Parks Department at 925-0951, Ext. 260.
