Anglers of all ages are encouraged to enter the Cachuma Lake Nature Center’s 16th annual Trout Derby fundraiser on April 9 and 10.
Cash prizes amounting to $5,000 and thousands of dollars in merchandise will be awarded in several different categories and age groups. Free arts and crafts activities will also be offered to children on derby weekend. Individual campsites are available on a first come, first served basis; however, group areas are available to reserve.
The registration fee for adults is $35 until March 25 and $40 thereafter; children 10 years and younger get in for $10. All anglers 16 years and older must have a fishing license, which may be purchased at the marina.
Registration forms are available at Cachuma Lake Park entry gate, store, marina, Nature Center, and local businesses.
