As part of its year-long “Get Inspired!” series, the Wildling Art Museum in Los Olivos has invited photographer Tom Millea to give a talk and book signing on July 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Millea’s talk will cover his experiences and process, and he’ll discuss his first publication, The Book of Palms, winner of the 2011 Benjamin Franklin silver award.

From July 6 through Aug. 14, the Wildling will showcase Millea’s platinum photographs, primarily of Death Valley, from its own collection, along with a selection of current large-scale color photographs from his “Palms” series in the Barbara Goodall Education gallery.

The talk is $10 ($5 for Wildling members), and space is limited. To reserve a seat, contact Holly Cline at 686-8315 or e-mail holly@wildlingmuseum.org.
