Tickets for the Santa Barbara County Fair are now available. The 118th annual event with the theme “It’s a Groovy Time in 2009” will run July 15 though 19 at the Fairpark, 937 S. Thornburg in Santa Maria.
Pre-sale tickets are on sale until July 12 at Rabobank branches in Santa Maria, Orcutt, Guadalupe, and Nipomo; the Santa Maria Fairpark office; and at all Super Carniceria La Chiquita Markets. Tickets are also available online at santamariafairpark.com. Pre-sale tickets are $5 for those 12 and older and $3 for youth ages 6 to 11. General admission at the gate is $2 more. Unlimited carnival ride wristband coupons are $20 and $25 if purchased at the fair. Season passes good for all five days are $20 and only available at the Fairpark ticket office.
Opening day is Santa Barbara Bank & Trust Dollar Day with $1 admission and $1 carnival rides. Main Stage attraction that day is Bucky Covington. July 16 is Telemundo Seniors Day with Main Stage entertainment by Boyz II Men. July 17 is Toyota Agriculture & Cattleman’s Day presented by Wilco Distributors. The Main Stage attraction will be country singer Miranda Lambert. July 18 is Pepsi Military and Law Enforcement Appreciation Day presented by Wells Fargo Bank. Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will rock the crowd on the Main Stage. July 19 is La Chiquita Fiesta Day with a Fiesta Del Charro Rodeo, followed by musical entertainment in the Budweiser Minetti Arena, which is a separately ticketed event.
