Putting the fun back in fundraiser, the Friends of the Santa Maria Public Library invite the public to go miniature golfing indoors to benefit the library on Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ā

For a donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children, mini-golfers will be able to play on the library’s 18-hole course, which will be set up among the book stacks and feature Winnie the Pooh, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and other favorite children’s literary characters as obstacles.

Ā

There will also be games for kids and other family-friendly attractions.

Ā

Boomers! is donating children’s golf clubs for the day, and the Santa Maria Noontimers Lions Club will provide the barbecue. Beverages will be offered by Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Santa Maria.

Ā

Sponsorships are available to promote each hole at a cost of $250, which includes a business logo, name, and hole number posted on the designated hole. The cost also includes a logo and name displayed on the scorecards.

Ā

Additional sponsorships for the event are available for those who would like to help the library with future acquisitions and programming costs. Sponsors’ names will be prominently displayed on the library’s golf course-themed Sponsor Board. For $100 or more, sponsors will be associated with the St. Andrews Links. Smaller amounts will be linked with various other famous golf courses on the board, like Pebble Beach and Augusta National.

Ā

The new Santa Maria Public Library is located at 421 S. McClelland St.
