San Luis Obispo County’s girls all-star basketball team kept the game close on April 14, when high school basketball players from around the coast participated in the 28th annual Kiwanis Central Coast All-Star Basketball Spectacular.
But Cabrillo High School senior Erin Jenkins fought hard for northern Santa Barbara County, according to Gary Prober of the Kiwanis Club of Santa Maria Valley. With 24 scored points, 11 rebounds, four steals, and two blocks, Jenkins opened a lead that San Luis Obispo County couldn’t close.
Santa Barbara County won the game 65-57, and Jenkins, 18, was crowned Most Valuable Player of the game.
