The Elverhoj Museum in Solvang opened the new exhibit Manna from Heaven in its main gallery space on Aug. 20 with an event that welcomed artists Robert Burridge, Jim McWilliams, and Bob Nichols to speak on their work. The exhibit—which shows through Nov. 6—focuses on vessels used to feed the body and soul.
The exhibit highlights paintings by Burridge, the digital and assemblage art of McWilliams, and the ceramics of Nichols. Nichols also created several dozen bowls that will sell in the Elverhoj’s gift shop during the show’s run. All proceeds will go to the Santa Barbara County Foodbank. All three artists began their artistic careers in the 1960s and enjoy exploring themes of freedom, awareness, and symbolism in their work.
