In a recent statement from the Elverhoj Museum of History and Art in Solvang, board president Dennis Bales commended longtime Executive Director Esther Jacobsen Bates’ dedication to the venue over the years, while announcing his colleague’s plans to retire this summer.
“On behalf of the board of directors, we want to recognize and thank Esther for her extraordinary personal commitment and passion,” Bales said.
“By far the longest tenured of our past directors, Esther has guided Elverhoj to new levels of accomplishment and recognition.
Bates (pictured) was appointed to the role in 2003 and described the position as “a great honor” in press materials.
“I take pride in the museum’s role in the community, and I feel it is positioned for a successful future,” Bates said.
