Want to learn the fundamentals of volleyball? The city of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department will be holding a volleyball clinic for youth ages 7 to 14, to introduce the sport to younger children and prepare older athletes for the upcoming fall season.

The clinic takes place for ages 7 to 10 at Edwards Community Center, 809 Panther Dr., on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. July 10 to 19. For participants ages 11 to 14, the clinic will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

All aspects of the game will be addressed, including serving, passing, setting, hitting, and teamwork. The cost is $27 for residents and $33.50 for non-residents, and includes a program T-shirt. Coach Heather Allen will direct the camp, along with collegiate players and guest coaches.

For more information, call the Recreation and Parks Department at 925-0951, Ext. 260.
