The Dana Adobe Nipomo Amigos (DANA) is hosting a talk on Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. in celebration of Black History Month that shares the stories of African-Americans who helped settle the West, including one man who actually spent time at the Dana Adobe. The talk will focus on the near-legendary story of Jim Beckwourth, a freed slave who became an accomplished frontiersman.
