The Quester Chapter No. 1351 Cinco Ciudades recently presented Dana Adobe Nipomo Amigos with two gifts. The first is an 1840s-era camphor wood trunk used by Californio families like the Danas to store and protect their fine clothing and textiles. The Quester organization found the trunk and bought it for DANA with a special grant from the national Quester organization. The second gift is a lady’s sidesaddle made by J. P. Hoefer Co. of San Luis Obispo prior to 1899. The saddle was owned by Evelyn Huffman, a descendent of the Cota family. She used it often in the Rose Parade in Pasadena and the Santa Barbara Old Spanish Days

Fiesta Parade.

The Dana Adobe is open to the public on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, call 929-5679 or visit danaadobe.org.
