The Lompoc Valley Art Association features Neil Andersson at the Cypress Gallery in downtown Lompoc for the month of August. An artist’s reception is scheduled for Aug. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the gallery.
Andersson is known for his landscape paintings, and said in a statement from the association that a landscape is “a source of incredible beauty—a place to rest, of excape, or harmony rather than dissonance. My paintings and drawings are a record of things that interest me, sometimes simply the relationship of colors and shapes, sometimes the memory of a real place, its atmosphere, its vegetation, the sky, the water, the time of day, season, and year.”
The Cypress Gallery is located at 119 E. Cypress Ave., Lompoc, and is open Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. More information is available at 737-1129.
