The Santa Barbara County Water Agency announced a series of four Water Wise Landscaping Workshops beginning May 16 and running through June 6. The three-hour classes are designed to introduce homeowners, residents, and business owners to the fundamentals of landscaping for semi-arid climates that require minimal water.

The May 16 workshop happens from 9 a.m. to noon at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center, 1120 W. Ocean Ave., Lompoc. Another workshop is May 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Santa Barbara Public Library’s Faulkner Gallery, 40 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara. A third workshop is May 30 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Santa Maria Public Library, 421 S. McClelland St., Santa Maria. The last is June 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Legion Wing of the Solvang Veterans Memorial Hall, 1745 Mission Dr., Solvang. Green Gardens Group presents the workshops.
