The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, Santa Maria Valley YMCA, and Santa Maria Boys and Girls Club are inviting area youngsters to participate in the iHoops Skills Challenge on March 3.

Local youth ages 9 to 14 can showcase their basketball abilities in a time-based, half-court obstacle course. The free competition focuses on basketball skill development while encouraging participation in the game. Participants can register on site on the day of the event. Awards will be given for first- and second-place finishers.

The iHoops Skills Challenge will take place at the El Camino Jr. High Gym, 219 West El Camino, from 6 to 8 p.m.

For more information, call the Recreation and Parks Department at 925-0951, Ext. 260.
