The city of Santa Maria’s 18th annual Lights, Sights, and Holiday Nights Holiday Decoration Contest included households across the valley vying for distinction with strings of lights, elaborate scenery, and festive festoonery. Santa Maria Recreation and Parks commissioners conducted the official judging and awarded the winners at the Dec. 16 city council meeting.
Winners for Best Decorated Residence included Jerry and Sylvia Meisenzahl in the northwest quadrant, Ron and Bobbi Wolfing in the northeast quadrant, Kenneth and Janelle Cardona in the southwest quadrant, and Lynn and Richard Fernbaugh in the southeast quadrant. Best of Show went to the Enriquez Family, the Neighborhood Spirit award went to Mary Hinojosa, and Best Animation went to John and Vicki Mitchell. Lifetime Achievement awards went to Earl and Donna Thacker, Larry and Patti Stewart, Robert and Sandra Dickerson, and Michael B. Clayton and Associates Attorney at Law.
