A globetrotting blues, rock, and Americana band will take the stage in Solvang on July 25.
With a set list ranging from Jimi Hendrix to Charlie Daniels, Dirty Cello will perform at Lost Chord Guitars at 8 p.m. Instead of a guitarist, cellist Rebecca Roudman leads the band.
āWeāre all about the fun at our shows,ā she said in press materials. āWe step onstage with only a vague plan as to what specific songs we are going to play. We react to what the audience wants to hear and adjust accordingly.ā
Oakland magazine described Dirty Celloās music as āfunky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, textured, and occasionally classical.ā Cloverdale Reveille called it a mix of āblues, bluegrass, and world music sounds with roots in the world of European classical music.ā
The San Francisco-based band has played all over the world, from China to Iceland to Italy to a Santa Cruz nudist resort. Whatever the venue, Dirty Cello promises to get your heart thumping and your toes tapping.
