The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is celebrating July as national Recreation and Parks Month with a number of free outdoor events for locals. A free gift is available for the first 200 residents who visit the Recreation and Parks Department Office while supplies last. The office is located at 615 S. McClelland, Santa Maria.

Concerts in the Park features Soul’d Out jamming classic rock, soul, blues, and funk music at the Rotary Centennial Park on July 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. Movies in the Park includes a screening of Frozen at Grogan Park on July 25 at dusk. The Paul Nelson Aquatic Center is open to anyone for a Free Swim Day on July 26.
