The Contemporary Arts Forum (CFE) has announced its 2012 call for entries. Entries will be accepted through Oct. 14. This is an annual juried exhibition that encourages artists from the community to produce newly commissioned work.
CFE is open to visual artists of all mediums currently living and working in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties. Applicants may not be closely affiliated with CAF or have participated in a past CFE exhibition. A panel of jurors made up of artists and art professionals will select three to six artists to exhibit new work in a group exhibition held at CAF in 2012. The panel includes Grace Kook-Anderson, curator at Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Beach; John Spiak, director/chief curator of the California State University, Fullerton, Grand Central Art Center, Santa Ana; Shane Tolbert, past CFE artist, Houston, Texas; and Geoff Tuck, independent art writer, Los Angeles.
Selected artists will work with a curator through a series of studio visits to propose and create new work. For more information, visit sbcaf.org/exhibitions/opportun.html.
