The People for Leisure and Youth will be hosting a 1950s style Bunco tournament to raise funds for youth recreation in the Santa Maria Valley on April 16.

Bunco is a game where players take turns rolling dice, trying to accumulate as many points as possible to win each round. Cash prizes will be awarded for several categories, including ā€œThe Most Buncosā€ and ā€œThe Most Losses.ā€

The event takes place at the Santa Maria Radisson, 3455 Airpark Drive, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets cost $25 and include appetizers. There will be a no-host bar and entertainment by DJs ā€œChad and Andyā€ of Emerald Wave media.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit recreation and leisure in the Santa Maria Valley and help fund local parks, sports and recreation scholarships, swim passes, playground equipment, and more.

Online registration is available at santamariaatplay.org and in person at the City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, 615 S. McClelland St.
