After their best season record-wise in a decade, the Allan Hancock College football team is heading to the Southern California Football Association playoffs for the second year in a row.

The Bulldogs finished out the regular campaign with a 9-1 record, the same mark they had in 1999 when they played in the state championship game.

Currently ranked sixth in the Southern Section and ninth in the state, Hancock qualified for the postseason behind National Northern Conference champions Bakersfield College. Bakersfield handed Hancock their only loss this year, a 31-24 defeat on Oct. 10 that ended with the Bulldogs just one yard from the end zone.

TheĀ first round playoff game will take place on Nov. 21 with the location and opponent still to be determined.
