Allan Hancock College swim star Leanna Bramble was ranked among the state’s fastest swimmers and the nation’s best for the 2014 season; she was ranked among the top 12 for community colleges nationally.

Bramble earned All-American in all of her events and set a new conference record when she won the Western State Conference title in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:06:41. She helped lead the ’Dogs to a 23rd place finish in the finals, out of 48 teams.

Meanwhile, Bulldog baseball is gearing up for the first set of four-day baseball clinics to be held at John Osborne Field. Set for June 16 through 19, the sessions will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day.

The clinic will be run by coaching staff, former MLB pitcher Bryn Smith, and Bulldog players.

“The clinics are a chance for kids to spend their summer outside, becoming better baseball players and gaining confidence in themselves,” said Chris Stevens, head Hancock baseball coach.

The cost for the clinic is $125 per child and $75 for each additional family member.
