Catch the last two weekends of the Lavender Festival in Lompoc on July 18 and 25. The event, hosted by Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm, is free to the public from noon to 5 p.m. both days.
The highlight will be a lavender wreath-making class. For a $55 fee, participants will receive all the necessary supplies and instructions to craft a personalized 10-inch wreath from flowers that grew in the Lompoc field. There are multiple time slots available, but registration is encouraged before the farm sells out. Visit santaritahillslavender.com/workshops-experiences to sign up.
Also, find goods at the festival made by local artisans including lavender sachets, bath and beauty products, leather works, wood carvings, jewelry, and edible delights. Hear live music by Dave Tate on July 18 and Daniel Vera on July 25, and don’t miss essential oil distillation demonstrations scheduled throughout the weekends.
This year marks the third annual festival at the farm after its grand opening in 2023. Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm sells culinary products like lavender coffee, salt, sugar, olive oil, honey, and balsamic vinegar.
Representatives from the farm remind visitors to wear closed-toe shoes and be aware that lavender attracts bees. The property is located at 1900 Tularosa Road in Lompoc and open daily, except Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
