The Santa Maria Philharmonic will present its fourth subscription concert of the 2011-2012 season at 7:30 on April 28 at Grace Baptist Church, 605 E. McCoy Lane.
This concert primarily features the members of the string section of the orchestra. The repertoire spans the early years of the 17th century to the middle of the 20th century. The composers will range from such famous masters as Antonio Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky to several somewhat lesser known, but very talented, composers such as Arvo PƤrt.
A pre-concert lecture will be presented by Dr. Ann Lucas, a professor in the Fine Arts Department. The lecture will begin at 6:50 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m.
